The Cabin is approximately two miles from the Frio River which is perfect for tubing, swimming, and fishing.  Several river outfitters in the area rent tubes or kayaks to enjoy the Frio.  

Garner State Park, the crown jewel of Texas state parks, is only three miles away.  This picturesque park is an ideal place to hike or swim for the day.  Return to the park in the evening to enjoy the nightly summer family dance at the historical pavilion, a tradition dating back to 1941.    Leakey, Concan and Utopia are each a fifteen minute drive away.

Lost Maples State Park with its great, rugged hiking trails and changing fall foliage is within an hours drive.  

Enjoy horseback riding on a private ranch at nearby Elm Creek Stables.
